June’s Third Tuesday Event Features Traveling Trunk

UNION, OREGON__ The Union County Museum holds its first Third Tuesday event of the season June 17, at 7 p.m., in the Little White Church, across Main Street from the museum in Union, Oregon. The featured program is a presentation of the museum’s Traveling Trunk by Anne Rodriguez. Admission is free.

Anne is a retired school teacher with a passion for the fascinating objects of history and a great knack for storytelling. Her “Trunk” show has proven very popular with audiences of all ages, whether at the senior center, schools, meetings of organizations and other small to mid-size gatherings. Her presentations allow attendees to engage in the conversation and handle some of the objects from the trunk. Items included in each presentation are specially selected from the museum’s collection for the unique makeup of the intended audience.

Join other fans of history as Anne unfolds the mysteries and stories behind the items that travel in the trunk. You will come away from the event having enjoyed a few chuckles, with an enriched understanding of the lives of our ancestors and an increased curiosity for digging into the past.

The Union County Museum is located at 333 South Main Street in Union. Days and hours of operation following the Mother’s Day event are Wednesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The museum is owned by the Union County Museum Society, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, and operated by a small but dedicated group of volunteers. Go to the museum website, www.ucmuseumoregon.com for more information, or call 541.562.6003 during museum hours. The public is invited to all museum events. We welcome new memberships and are always looking for more volunteers.
