Wednesday, December 4, 2024 (3:00 PM - 4:00 PM) (PST)
Description
January 4, 11, 18, & 25 and February 1 from 3:00 – 4:00 pm
In this five-session class, you’ll learn the process of writing, drawing, inking, and coloring your own comic from Teaching Artist Sarah, who will engage you in the basics of comic book creation and visual storytelling. She’ll teach you how to use the traditional mediums of paper, pencil, ink, and alcohol-based markers to create three unique stories – and illustrate them! At the end of the five sessions, you’ll have the beginning of a finished comic that you can expand on or use as a jumping-off point for the creation of something entirely new. All supplies included. Please enter through the 5th Street door.

Sarah then started creating comics. Her first works were published in 2016. She then branched out by writing a graphic novel series and producing a faux podcast and audio drama. Sarah is passionate about building an army of fellow storytellers who will go out into the world and launch their original creations on the waiting public.
